McCaulay Culkin
Any credible list has to start with perhaps the most famous child star of that decade. McCaulay Culkin starred in the Home Alone movies, and he was famously popular before he reached the age of 12. One of the unique things about this actor is that he played the lead in all of those movies. While many child stars act as supporting actors and actresses and serve mostly as props during the movie, Culkin was the unquestioned main attraction in each of those films. They've now become classics, and he remains one of the most popular children of the 90s.

Who can forget Osment's performance in Forrest Gump, where he played the role of little Forrest? Osment parlayed that role into a big role on the Jeff Foxworthy Show, and that's where his career really took off. He later played in The Sixth Sense as a slightly older kid, and it's apparent that people identify with his young 1990s face. Though he's blossomed into a full grown actor, Osment is still known for early roles where he cut his teeth.

Do you know how much the human head weighs? If you saw Lipnicki's performance in 1990s classic Jerry Maguire, then you know this small, irrelevant fact. Lipnicki starred as the affable young son that attached instantly to Maguire, and he added some of the lighter moments in a film full of them. He later starred in the Stuart Little films, but most people still associate him with his work done as a child star of the 1990s.

As a member of the British royal family, he's been popular all over the world. More than just a British icon, he was beloved in America, throughout Europe, and even in those Asian countries where British pop culture is on the radar.

Spears was a 9-year old when 1990 rolled around, and she started making waves a few years later. The American pop sensation rose up the charts while she was a young teenager, and she became an object of affection for young men around the world at that time. Her career would later unravel in the 2000s, but the 1990s remain a pure time for people who remember Spears fondly. She made regular rounds on the Mouseketeers before she finally busted through with a legitimate singing career. Her success was helped along by the popularity of MTV's TRL, a show dedicated to the best music videos in any given week.
