Lindsey Vonn is devasted.
No, Tiger Woods has not cheating on the star athlete with a slew of cocktail waitresses. Not yet, at least.
Instead, the former Gold Medalist will unfortunately miss the upcoming Winter Olympics in Russia due to an injured right knee.
"I am devastated to announce that I will not be able to compete in Sochi," Vonn said in her statement, adding that she will require surgery but hopes to be ready for the 2015 World Championships.
Vonn crashed at the world championships last February and needed to reconstruct two knee ligaments as a result. She then suffered a setback when she fell again in France on December 21.
"I did everything I possibly could to somehow get strong enough to overcome having no ACL but the reality has sunk in that my knee is just too unstable to compete at this level," Vonn added in the statement, concluding by trying to find a silver lining:
"On a positive note, this means there will be an additional spot so that one of my teammates can go for gold. Thank you all so much for all of the love and support. I will be cheering for all of the Olympians and especially team USA!"
