Alia Bhatt Lend Her Voice For High Way Movie Song - Video

We never knew there lurked a singer inside the up-and-coming actress Alia Bhatt until we saw her debut singing effort 'Sooha Saha' for Imtiaz Ali’s film Highway.

'Sooha Saaha' is a soulful lullaby composed by A R Rahman. It comes at a crucial juncture in the film when the character of a kidnapped girl played by Alia Bhatt overcomes her fears, begins to enjoy the journey, and croons a lullaby that reminds her abductor (Randeep Hooda) of his childhood.

To have Alia sing the song was Imtiaz Ali’s idea. Ali heard her croon a line or two and liked her voice. Then he convinced A R Rahman to record the song in Alia’s voice.

“It was unreal. I am a bathroom singer but to have the opportunity to sing a song composed by Rahman sir was unbelievable. This film is so close to my heart not just for acting but for singing too now!” Alia Bhatt says.

Of course, Alia couldn’t have got it right without the guidance of Rahman.

“We guided her (Alia) a little bit to perfect the singing. She did it twice and then we got it almost right and now it sounds great,” A R Rahman says.

Check out the making of ‘Sooha Saha’ below and tell us if you are impressed with Alia’s singing.
