Galaxy S3 Neo now With 4.8" and Quad Core 1.2Ghz and 1.5GB Ram

Samsung seems to be on a roll. The Samsung India website has now listed a new handset called the Galaxy S3 Neo. In the past we have seen Samsung calling ‘low-powered’ versions of already-existing devices as ‘Neo’.

The Galaxy S3 Neo also appears to be a slightly watered-down version of the Galaxy S3 that was launched in 2012, but it does come with some improvements. The S3 Neo sports a similar 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution. It also gets an 8-megapixel rear snapper, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and microSD card support up to 64GB.

It is also powered by a quad-core processor clocked slightly lower at 1.2GHz, compared to the original S3. However, it gets 1.5 GB of RAM, which is 50 percent more than the S3. It also gets dual-SIM functionality and an infrared port, which the original S3 lacks.

The chipset isn’t mentioned yet. Samsung has also not revealed which version of the Android mobile operating system the device will run. Samsung plans to dip the device in vivid colours including blue, pink, red and white. The device is expected to be fuelled with a removable battery that promises up to 14 hours of talk time. Considering it’s a Neo version, we can expect the device to be priced slightly lower than the current price of the original S3. The 16GB Galaxy S3 is now selling online for around Rs 21,600, so this phone could sell for around Rs 18,000-19,000. Read our Galaxy S3 review to know more about the 2012 flagship.
