Just 10 Media presents Pannaiyarum Padminiyum Movie Review. Arun Kumar directed PP casts Aishwarya Rajesh opposite Vijay Sethupathi and Jayaprakash plays key roles.

After back to back hits with Pizza, Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, Vijay Sethupathi's Rummy that released last week did not do well at Chennai Box Office. Check out Pannaiyarum Padminium Review to know if Vijay will get back to his winning streak again.

Pannaiyarum Padminiyum is about a landlord who is fond of his Padmini Car. Arun Kumar of Naalaya Iyakunar has directed PP based on short film with same name. Newbie Justin Prabhakaran composed music for the lyrics written by late lyricist Vaali, while A. Sreekar Prasad has edited the film.

While Pannaiyarum Padminiyum Music album was a hit and the film has high expectations among movie buffs. It is to be seen whether cinematographer Gokul Benoy's visuals and background scores help in film's success.

Story:

Pannaiyarum Padminiyum is about the landlord Pannaiyar [Jayaprakash], the only man who affords Radio, Television and Telephone in Melur Village. A situation arises where Pannaiyar's relative has to go out of Village and handovers his Padmini Car to Pannaiyar. Here comes the first turn in the story when a Villager is bit by Snake and Pannaiyar has to allow Murugesan [Vijay Sethupathi] to drive the car as he is not aware of driving. As story progresses, Villagers develop an inseperable rapo with Padmini car and their emotional attatchment with it forms crux of Pannaiyarum Padminiyum...

Performance:

Vijay Sethupathi is back to track and has delivered a commendable performance as Murugesan, who understands peoples pulse.

Bala Saravanan, who did Murugesan's role in PP short film, played Pannaiyar's servant in the movie. Bala has done a great job as Peedai, a powerful character that takes the film forward with good humor and timing.

Jayaprakash and Thulasi as pair rocked the play. Pannaiyar, Chellam take us to the era through their performances.

Aishwarya Rajesh as the female lead did her parts well and Neelima in the villainous role as Jayaprakash's daughter throw some grey shades that are appreciable.

Technical Analysis:

Arun Kumar has to be appreciated for his attempt. With his choice of cast and crew he almost reached viewers expectations, but piles with dialogues, screenplay and the slow narration.

After Pannaiyarum Padminiyum audio with lyrics by late Vaali was huge success, debutante music director Justin Prbhakaran has come up with praiseworthy background scores that helped in film's success.

Gokul Benoy's cinematography is worth mentioning and adds special interest into every frame of PP. Unakagaga porantheney song looks beautiful on screen with his camera works.

Editing by National award winner A. Sreekerprasad is acceptable, but could have been crisper, as the slow pace is the only ailment in the movie.

Analysis:

Pannaiyarum Padminiyum is a perfect attempt made by Naalaya Iyakunar director Arum Kumar, who has attractively blend the emotions between the charaters and Padmini Car. Direction is the only point to look for among the technicalities in the movie.

First half of PP is bit slow with feel good association between characters, while second half is an emotional ride of Villagers with Padmini Car with no commercial elements and no negative senses not even a cigar.

Pannaiyarum Padminiyum will definitely give a much needed break to the newcommers Justin Prabhakaran, Gokul Benoy, Arun Kumar and is a comeback film for Vijay Sethupathi.

Final Verdict: Worth watching emotional laugh riot and you will surely fall in love with Padmini Car, atleast a drive.
