Ajith Next Movie Salary is 50 Crores Says A.M. Rathnam

Producer A.M. Rathnam is said to have decided to pay Ajith a whopping sum of Rs.50 crores as his fee to star in his film which is likely to go on floors in the second half of next year. Ratham’s decision to pay a record fee to Ajith is said to have been inspired by his feeling of gratitude as it was Ajith who bailed him out of his financial mess by agreeing to star in Arrambam which later proved to be a huge success at the box-office.

One of the popular and successful producers in Kollywood, successive failures had made Rathnam’s position untenable in the industry. He incurred huge losses and became a debtor. Heroes who had worked in successful films of Rathnam in the past didn’t come to his rescue. Vijay, who starred in films such as Khushi and Ghilli made by Rathnam, reportedly failed to respond to Rathnam’s cries for help.

Just when Rathnam was feeling helpess and defeated, Ajith came forward voluntarily to star in Arrambam. The film’s super-success made Rathnam not only a happy soul but transformed his life. Not stopping at that, Ajith announced that he would be starring in another film by Rathnam which would be directed by Gautham Menon. The film is to go to the floors soon.

Soon after completing Menon’s film, Ajith would do another film for Rathnam again; this film is likely to go to floors in 2015. For this film, Rathnam has said that he is planning to pay Ajith Rs.50 crores as a means of showing his gratitude for the magnanimity of Ajith. Industry circles are abuzz with Rathnam’s decision which makes Ajith the highest paid actor after superstar Rajinikanth.(IANS)
