Plot : Pencil is an upcoming Tamil film directed by debutant Mani Nagaraj and produced by S. P. Ragavesh. The film features G. V. Prakash Kumar and Sri Divya in the lead roles, with the former also composing the film's music. The film is expected to be released in mid 2014.

 

In October 2013, it was announced that music composer G. V. Prakash Kumar would make his debut as an actor with Mani Nagaraj's Pencil, while Priya Anand would play the heroine tin the film. Priya Anand however revealed that she had not signed the script, due to her busy filming schedule, and subsequently Sri Divya was recruited to portray the lead female role.

Still photographs from the film's initial photoshoot were released to the media in November 2013, earning positive reaction from critics. Shariq, son of actors Riyaz Khan and Uma Riyaz, was also featured in the photo shoot and was announced to make his acting debut with a supporting role in the film.

The music composer GV Prakash is also working on his debut movie as an actor titled 'Pencil' in which he plays the character of a 12th standard student.

Sri Divya of Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam fame is playing the female lead in the film and will also play the character of a school student. The team had released the first look posters of Pencil yesterday (20th November). The pictures of G.V Prakash and Sri Divya dressed in school uniform look refreshing and raise up the expectations for the movie, which is said to be a script on a fresh line. The response to these posters on FB and Twitter has been overwhelming.

The movie is being directed by Mani Nagaraj, a former associate of Gautham Vasudev Menon.

The first look of Pencil has been receiving a lot of positive reports from the audiences. This is a very special film for GV Prakash Kumar as he will be making his debut as a leading actor.

There is one more very important buzz about the film, Shariq who is the son of ace actors Riyaz Khan and Uma Riyaz Khan is making his debut as an actor by playing a supporting role. We hear his screen appearance in the film is almost equal to GV Prakash's role. After completing a course on Multimedia in Chennai, Shariq aspired to make it big as the director of photography but destiny put him in front of screens rather than behind. Looks like one more star will add to the glory of Riyaz's family. Let's wish this young lad all the very best!
