US Army has developed a realistic robot bird that even tricked real flocks and hawks to track it midair, making it a potential unsuspecting future war agent. Robo Raven was developed in the collaboration with the team of University of Maryland researchers, including an Indian origin scientist. It glides, soars and flams like a real bird.

Its complete individual control allows for extreme aerobatics that none other mechanical bird has never been able to perform.researchers from US Army Research Laboratory(ARL). However, its ability to hide in plain sights and light weight it what excites researchers most. "It already attracts attention form birds in the area which tends to hide its presence," Said John Gerdes, who is an Mechanical Enginner.

It was designed by Carbon fibre, 3D-printed lightweight thermal resistant plastic, Mylar foil and foam. The geo-metrically complex figure is shoter than two feet and weight less than a can of soda. Gerdes, a doctroral condidate, being built Robo-Ravan in 2008 as a part of Graduate Research at the University of Maryland's. Advance manufacturing laboratory that focused on developing a tech demonstrator for manufacturing techniques that morphed into a variety.

The bird will carry a tiny video camera and could fly in winds up to 10Mph.
