Since 2002, the inimitable Gisele Bündchen has held the crown of the world’s highest paid model. Despite pregnancies and breaks from work, the supermodel has retained her enviable title for almost 15 years, although according to Forbes, in 2017 Gisele has had to settle for second spot.
So, who bumped Gisele from her throne? Why none other than Ms. Kendall Jenner (and to be honest, we can’t say we are altogether surprised about this one).
According to Forbes, Jenner took home $22 million USD this year (which is approximately $29 million AUD). Gisele made $4.5 million less than that, earning a total of $17.5 million USD (or $23 million AUD).
Jenner’s pay check is the result of deals with Estée Lauder, La Perla and Adidas, although it is important to note that much of her income is drawn from non-modelling related ventures. Kendall makes a significant amount of money appearing in her family’s reality TV show, and also draws funds from the clothing line she founded with her sister.
Other notable mentions include Chrissy Teigen, who came in third and earned $13.5 million (nearly $18 million Australian), as well as the Hadid sisters, Gigi and Bella, who came in at fifth and ninth place, respectively. Gigi earned herself $9.5 million USD, while younger sister Bella made a very respectable $6 million.
