Ex Lovers are now Good Friends - STR & Nayan

In 2008, when the film industry had gathered for a protest, Simbu and Nayanthara happened to sit on adjacent seats for a while. On that occasion, they didn’t greet each other; nor did they share a smile. Onlookers were able to feel the tension when they observed their body language. This was after their infamous break-up in 2007 post the release of their film, Vallavan.

And now, nearly eight years later, the two have successfully completed the first schedule of director Pandiraj’s film, which is tentatively titled Idhu Namma Aalu. When Pandiraj cast Nayanthara opposite Simbu, many thought that the director would have a tough time on the set. But according to unit sources, they have proved now that they are not only professionals, but also good friends. A source says, “The film is based on a love story. So far, the two have shot only love scenes and both of them have not said a single ‘no’ to any romantic scene till now. Behind the scenes too, Simbu and Nayan bond very well. Once their scenes are filmed, they do not go to their respective caravans — instead, they sit and interact a lot, and seem to be very friendly. We thought we would have a tough time getting them together for a scene. But, they made our work much easier. They have been good friends for a year and this film will be yet another platform for their friendship.”

After their break-up, Nayan and Simbu’s friendship blossomed once again a year ago at a party and they even shared a few lighter moments at Raja Rani’s success bash recently. A couple of weeks ago, Nayan even attended the party thrown by Simbu for his birthday!(TOI)
