Veronica Mars, a crowdsourced movie-revival of the TV series with the same name, has gotten its first trailer.
In the trailer, we see Veronica returning to her hometown of Neptune, Calif., determined to leave her past life as a private eye behind. The murder of a singer interferes with those plans, and an ex-boyfriend complicates her life even further.
The Veronica Mars movie project was the fastest to hit $1,000,000 in funding on Kickstarter back in March 2013. The project had no problem reaching its $2 million goal and surpassing it, ultimately getting $5.7 million in funding.
The movie is based on a TV series created by Rob Thomas, which ran from 2004 to 2007, and though it never reached stellar ratings, it had (and obviously still has) a devout following. Rob Thomas is directing and the Kristen Bell reprises her role as the title character.
The movie hits select theaters on March 14.
