Sruthi Hassan Avoids Kamal Movie Due to Busy Schedule

Actress Shruti Haasan is happily shuttling between the South and Mumbai, juggling both Bollywood and southern projects. The actor was on a break for some time as she was asked to rest after an appendix operation, which sent all her dates for a toss. Now she has had to rework her diary. While doing so, the actress has decided not to do her dad Kamal Haasan’s film as she no longer has any dates to spare!

Shruti is all set to start shooting for ‘Gabbar’, an upcoming Hindi action drama film, directed by Krish and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, where she plays the female lead opposite Akshay Kumar. It was apparently this film that she walked out of her dad’s film for, as she badly wanted to be a part of ‘Gabbar’. Since Kamal Haasan couldn’t further postpone the film, a newcomer will apparently be cast in place of Shruti.

Kamal Haasan confirmed the news, “Yes, our dates didn’t work out. But in a way, it’s good. It’s too early for Shruti and I to share screen space together.” He further elaborates that it would put pressure on both of them as performers, but he wants to work with his daughter in the future, when she is more experienced. Currently, Shruti has some interesting Bollywood projects in her kitty apart from ‘Gabbar’. She will also be seen in ‘Welcome Back’ with John Abraham. Apparently her sister Akshara Haasan will also be launched this year by R. Balki in his next, starring Dhanush and Amitabh Bachchan.
