Ram Charan Moves to 2 Place in Top Tollywood Heroes

Mega Heroes have struck again with back to back Blockbusters to cement the first two positions in the number game.

In 2010 and 2011, Mega heroes suffered a big blow with no proper hits , it’s the time when Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu was released which become a blockbuster and Mahesh producers started to project him as No:1 hero of Tollywood .

In 2012, Mahesh Babu once again got a so called hit with Businessman film and he cemented his position as No:1 contender in number game. But his dreams to be called as NO:1 hero became broken dreams with Pawan Kalyan’s entry as ‘Gabbar Singh’. Pawan’s Gabbar Singh film broke most of the existing records to become a 2nd biggest film in TFI and Industry people started looking at Pawan Kalyan as Next mega star.  Gabbar singh success was followed by Ramcharan’s Rachcha film, which was a breather film for Charan, who tasted a flop with his previous film ‘Orange’. Later Pawan’s ‘Cameraman Gangathao Rambabu’ was released and it performed much better than Mahesh’s ‘Businessman’ in terms of collections.

In 2013, the real fight has began between Mahesh and Ramcharan, while Mahesh was defending his No:2 position and Ramcharan was trying for that position. Mahesh Babu with a multi starrer film ‘Seethmma Vakitlo sirimalle Chettu’ , a family entertainer film  and Ramcharan with Naayak , a masala entertainer film,  were released during Sankarthi 2013. The result went in favor of Ramcharan as Mahesh’s film had good number at overseas and remaining all other regions it was Naayak’s Hawa. When final collections were compared with pre-release business, Naayak had 7 crore profits while SVSC had showed few lakhs profits (compared to theatrical rights).

Later in 2013 , Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredi  spelled  its magic over audience with simple story to became an Industry Hit beating Ramcharan’s Magadheera records after 4 years gap by collecting 85 crore. AD success had a serious pressures on Mahesh Babu’s film 1 Nenokkadine film . Thus, the makers poured crore of rupees on’1′ promotions.

In 2014, Mahesh Babu and Ramcharan once again locked horns, while Mahesh wanted Industry hit film to be called as No: 1 contender and Ramcharan was trying hard to take Mahesh position. The end result was very shocking for Manesh. Despite of huge publicity like never before , Hiring a news channel completely to promote the film on daily basis with special interviews of all the Tollywood directors, Buying 2 lakh sq feet of boarding across the state, With NFS tags in electronic boarding , Huge Web marketing, Competitions in school & colleges, Mobile application& game , TV interviews and what not. But the film has failed utterly at box-office. The first week AP collections were just 17 crore, half the amount of Pawan’s Attarintiki Daredi’s(AD) first week collections , AD has collected around 35 crore in AP alone for the first week. Even ’1′ could not take any position in Top 15 earners list, this proves the fact that Mahesh’s craze has fallen down low and his position is not the No:2 anymore.

Meanwhile,Ramcharan’s film Yevadu, despite of movie story leakage including twists , waited patiently for 5 months in boxes for release , came as underdog for Sankranthi. The collection of the film clearly states  the fan following for the young mega star. Ramcharan once again stood as Sankarthi  hero beating Mahesh Babu for the second time in a row and occupying the No:2 position. While Pawan Kalyan is enjoying at No:1 Hero status.
