Star Guild Awards 2014: Deepika Padukone Wins Best Actress Award

Just a few days after bagging Best Actress Award at LifeOk Screen Awards, Deepika Padukone is honoured with the same award at a different awards function. Yes, as we predicted, the Bollywood diva has won the Best Actress Award at Star Guild Awards 2014.

Deepika Padukone was nominated in the Best Actress category for her three movies. She competed with her own performances in Chennai Express, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. But finally it was Chennai Express that won her the award.

The Bangalore lass did not win the award easily, as there were strong contenders. Sonakshi Sinha, who was nominated for Lootera, Nimrat Kaur for Lunchbox and Parineeta Chopra for her Shuddh Desi Romance were the other nominees.

This is for the first time where Deepika Padukone won the Best Actress Award at Star Guild Awards. Earlier, she had won the Best Actress Award for Om Shanti Om, which was her debut film in Bollywood. And she had also bagged Chevrolet Heartbeat of the Nation for her performance in Love Aaj Kal featuring Saif Ali Khan.
