The fans were in for a surprise when actor Dhanush released the first look poster of his 25th flick, 'Velai Illa Pattathari' at the stroke of 12 on earlier today, for Christmas. The young talented National Award winning actor is back with six packs in the film which has Amala Paul paiting with him for the first time.

Velaiyilla Pattathari (English: Unemployed Graduate) is an upcoming Tamil film written, directed and filmed by cameraman Velraj making his directorial debut. The film is produced by Dhanush, who also features in the lead role being his 25th project as actor with Amala Paul as the female lead. The film, which will have music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, will be a mid-2014 release. Vela Illaa Pattadhaari #D25 audio from Jan 3 rd. It’s an Anirudh musical.'

Velraj and Dhanush had worked together in several projects including as Aadukalam (2011) and 3 (2012) as cinematographer and lead actor respectively and during the production of those films, Dhanush requested Velraj to make his debut as a director and promised to play the lead role, if the cinematographer had narrated a good script. Dhanush subsequently agreed to produce the film and then revealed the title of the film Velaiyilla Pattathari on Indian Independence Day, noting that filming was to start on August 20, 2013. Amala Paul was signed on to play the role of a doctor, while Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponvannan were added to the cast as Dhanush's parents. "Dhanush" tweets the teaser and first look of film release on 25 December. But later for adding extra two songs for the film, the audio release is postponded to feburaury 14.
